The Lucky Taco was born after Sarah & Otis fell in love with the food truck concept (and TACOS) on their honeymoon in LA in 2011. The now world famous ‘The Lucky Taco Truck’, has evolved from 4 wheels into a whole range of Award Winning Mexican FMCG products which they sell across a range of stores in NZ.

A little Lucky Taco update from us 🌮❤️🥹

If you’ve spotted our Taco Kits on the shelf lately, now’s the time to grab one.

Once they’re gone, they’re gone burgers.

After a lot of thinking (and spreadsheet staring 😅), we’ve made the decision to focus on the products that made those kits so popular in the first place, our marinades & salsas. 💯💚❤️👌🏽😋

They were always the heroes of The Lucky Taco story.

The magic was always INSIDE the box. So we’ve unpacked it for you.

By focusing on our hero range, we can make The Lucky Taco more affordable, more versatile, easier to get into more stores, and build a stronger business for the long haul.

It wasn’t an easy decision. We’ve loved seeing Lucky Taco Kits become part of family dinners & to have been the catalyst for taco traditions all over Aotearoa...

But as a small founder-led business, sometimes you’ve got to simplify to grow.

To everyone who’s bought a kit over the years, thank you. Truly. We’ve only gotten this far because of you. 🫶🏽🙏🏽❤️💯

Found this old photo from the early Lucky Taco truck days when the Topp Twins rolled through for tacos and a yarn.

Our dear friends & .cuthbert were shooting a tv show with them & they made a detour for a Lucky Taco. They helped us in the kitchen & then serenaded our customers at 230 Ponsonby Rd. 🎸🤠🌮🚐 - unforgettable. 🫶🏽

They were exactly what you hoped they’d be: funny, warm, down-to-earth and completely themselves.

Absolute Kiwi icons.
