Pete's Natural A family-owned solar powered soda factory in Motueka, squeezing fruit from all over Aotearoa. He got the undeniable urge to start brewing his own lemonade.

Pete was going about his business one day, when he suddenly got an idea! The minute he got home, Pete pulled out all the buckets and pails he could find and started mixing all the ingredients he could possibly come up with. Pete's first brews weren't deemed successful by his family, and with each new batch they got more and more fed up. Pete's wife was going nuts from all the buckets thrown around the house and everyone was well and truly sick of Pete's constant insisting that they try 'just one more time'. Eventually, Pete got it right and came up with something drinkable that his family approved of. Then it was time for the neighbours to try their luck. Pete carted bottle after bottle across the road day after day. Each time they would come back empty with a note included. (Yuck, but better than the last one...) The thing about stubborn Pete though, is that he was determined to get it right. Day after day the bottles and brews kept coming until finally, he got a positive note back from the neighbours! And that was the defining moment when Pete's life changed forever. Pete's Natural was born! And that was Pete's cue to lay down his sleepy head and have a well deserved nap. Pete's Natural was born by sharing and passing it along. Pete's dreams would come true if you would do the same, and even better than that, you'll make some great mates along the way with Pete's awesome brew! Not to mention, everything in these bottles is organic or natural. And to really top it all off ... it has heaps less sugar than most leading brands of drinks!

Well, this is pretty cool 👀

Guess who made the **Next List 2026**? Yep… us! 🥤☀️

Pete’s Natural has been named as one of the people and organisations helping pave the way for sustainable change in Aotearoa.

Which also means we’re one of 115 finalists in this year’s Sustainable Business Awards. Not bad for a soda factory in Motueka powered by the sun ☀️

We’ve always believed making a cracking soda and doing things a little better can go hand in hand, so this one feels pretty special.
