Fodder Beet Training Session with Chum
We were fortunate to have our very own Chum deliver a practical and informative fodder beet training session for the team. Chum walked us through the process of transitioning the herd from grass to fodder beet, sharing valuable insights from real on-farm experience.
He outlined the key challenges, from managing intakes and rumen health to adapting routines day by day and spoke honestly about the daily decisions and monitoring required to make the transition successful. The session reinforced that while fodder beet can be a valuable feed option, it takes planning, patience, and close stock observation to get it right.
A big thanks to Chum for sharing his knowledge and practical tips — plenty of learnings to take forward on-farm.
