Armidale Merino Stud At Armidale we strive to produce the countries most profitable fine wool sheep. All stud stock are treated commercially and performance recorded.

The main aim for Armidale is to breed a maternal ewe that will maximise profit for ourselves and our clients. Phenotype is still considered extremely important with confirmation and constitution the first selection criteria followed by a quality wool to suit the New Zealand environment then superior production traits. Going forward we aim to maintain fleece weight and micron while making gradual increases in EMD and Fats.

Extremely proud to have taken out the NZ Royal Agricultural Society's Golden Fleece Competition with the Supreme Champion Fine Wool Fleece.
The Central Otago A & P along with Hayden, Rachel and their team put on such a good event. There was such a good display of wool, history and wool products as well as being able to see the workings of a wool store..
Congratulations to W.S Hickey & Son Wool Merchants on making it to 70 years. I'm sure you would have celebrated in style last night.
