Three things we reckon could make your freezing Friday better!!

A steaming hot bowl of porridge/oats made with Fernside Fresh Milk if you haven’t tried it in your porridge don’t even think of arguing with us 😝

A delicious Hot chocolate or coffee soooo good it’s not funny!

The fluffiest cheese scones I’ve ever made thanks to Fernside Fresh Milk, too bad it’s ruined me for most other scones now 🧈

I’ll drop the cheese scone recipe in the comments thanks to my mum writing it out for me years ago from Brett McGregor in his Masterchef days

A cute recent addition to our crew, we love it when they choose a sunny day to arrive ☀️

A few days ago our Ferdon Fizz Viyella calved a beautiful heifer by River Valley Victorious.

It’s great to have Fizz back in the milking herd, she has a great nature to deal with and a fantastic producer.

They have a good feed then settle in on the specially constructed 70mm foam mattresses in their bales and get some rest.

They are nosey gals and there’s always a few keen for a scratch.

Lots going on here the past month, drying off our spring calvers/summer milkers so they get a good few months rest before they have their calves.
Then it was into training our winter gals in the milking shed and transitioning them into the barn for the winter months, so our paddocks are looked after and not churned up in winter.
The barn helps keep the cows condition good in the cold.
We’re still getting them used to using the stalls and how to lay on the special mattresses.

Some great wins to share with you

A week and half ago we took some of our calves to Oxford Show and won Junior champion Jersey and Junior Allbreeds Champion with Lilac Grove Video Canada 🏆

We then jumped on a plane to go and see Lightning Ridge TR Victorious Toffee we part own with a friend compete at the Sydney Royal Easter show where she won Junior Champion Jersey also 🏆

If you get the opportunity to go to the Sydney Royal Easter show you definitely should and don’t pass the lemonade stall without grabbing some. An amazing experience with 11 days of exhibits and competitions.

Such an amazing result, we’ll pop some ribbons up in the shop for you all to see.
