Worm Farm Do’s and Don’t’s - simple rules to follow will add to your success in recycling kitchen waste:

DO add all kitchen scraps, but limit bread and citrus and cardboard

DON’T add meat, dairy products, oils and fats

Manage the moisture level by adding more cardboard
A little “juice” dripping out of your worm farm drain is good, lots of worm juice is simply leaching liquids unnecessary - add more cardboard to keep the goodness in.

It’s the worm castings (solid, moist soil-like worm-eaten scraps) that is your resulting “garden gold fertiliser” and soil conditioner.

It’s funny what a worm farm tells you about past eating seasons! … mostly lots of avocado stones, a few seeds that germinate and can’t grow in the dark, occasional tea bags that have prompted me into using only NZ made leaf teas Heke Homemade Herbals

Good thing we eat only home grown fruit now … shop bought fruit with stickers … worms don’t eat the stickers and they don’t degrade 😣
