This power point did not display properly at the New Zealand Dairy Goat Breeders Association Inc AGM. Slides attached for those interested.
To take this one step further, SM7.2 Ardee Desert Falcon has 7 registered daughters in NZ:
RM129(44) Ardee Daffodil *2
RM135 Ardee Desert Queen Q*2 classified 3-6 90 131 48
RS85 Ardee Bel Bird classified 1-6 90 129 50
R91 Ardee Bel Baja classified 1-5 89 127 50
RS74 Ardee Bel Bellini classified 1-4 89 124 53
RM123 Ardee Bel Bacardi Q*2 classified 3-4 90 126 54
RM139(54) Ardee Koffee *
So, although he has 95.3125% known parentage, (and would be App B level if female) has 7 daughters with milk awards, his worst classification score of a daughter is 89.....all his progeny are demoted to Recorded Grade.
Desert Falcon also has a twin, who has also sired daughters who test and classify well.
Why can't sires that perform be placed to experimental on application to Council on a case by case basis, allowing progeny to take the level they would have been on if the sire had been allowed to be Appendix B?
For the cases above, Desert Queen, Daffodil, Bel Bird, Bel Baja would be App B, Bel Bacardi & Bel Bellini remain App D as their dam is App D (due to her sire also being App B)
