🥦Recipe of the Month: Broccoli & Cheddar Soup

When the weather cools down, there's nothing better than a bowl of homemade Broccoli & Cheddar Soup. Creamy, cheesy and packed with fresh broccoli, it's a simple meal the whole family will enjoy.

Serve with warm crusty bread for the ultimate comfort food.

💚 Scottfresh Tip: For extra flavour, roast the broccoli with a drizzle of olive oil at 200°C for 15 minutes before adding it to the soup. Roasting brings out the broccoli's natural sweetness and adds depth to the finished dish.

🥬 Fresh Tip: Bring Wilted Greens Back to Life

Did your lettuce or leafy greens lose a little crunch? Don't throw them away just yet!

Simply place them in a bowl of ice-cold water for 5 minutes, spin or pat them dry, then refrigerate. The cold water helps the leaves rehydrate, bringing back that fresh, crisp texture.

A simple kitchen trick to help reduce food waste and keep your salads tasting their best 💚

🚜💧 Precision in every pass 💧 🚜

This week our team has been applying liquid fertiliser to support healthy crop growth across our paddocks.

Unlike granular fertilisers, liquid fertiliser can be applied evenly and accurately, allowing nutrients to become available to the crop quickly when they're needed most. By carefully matching application rates to crop requirements and paddock conditions, we're able to maximise nutrient uptake while minimising waste and protecting the environment.

Timing is everything. Applying fertiliser at the right growth stage helps encourage strong root development, healthy leaf growth, and vigorous plants that are better equipped to produce the high-quality vegetables our customers expect.

Behind the wheel is one of our experienced operators, using GPS-guided equipment to ensure every pass is precise. It's just one of the many jobs happening behind the scenes before our crops make their way to customers throughout New Zealand.

Growing fresh produce is a team effort, and every pass across the paddock plays an important role in delivering fresh, quality vegetables to Kiwi families. 🌱🥬

🇻🇺 Phrase of the Day 7 – KAKAE 🍽️

We've reached the final day of our Vanuatu Bislama Language Week series!

Today's phrase is "Kakae" – a simple but important Bislama word that means food or to eat. Sharing kakae is more than enjoying a meal; it's about family, friendship, community, and culture.

Thank you to everyone who followed, shared, and learned Bislama with us throughout the week. Let's continue to celebrate and use our language every day.

🇻🇺 Vanuatu Bislama Language Week 2026 – Day 3 | Phrase of the Day

🗣️ Phrase of the Day: Olsem wanem?

One of the most common and useful greetings in Bislama! 🇻🇺

Whether you're greeting a friend, family member, colleague, or someone you've just met, "Olsem wanem?" is a warm and friendly way to ask "How are you?" or "How's it going?"

💬 Try this conversation: 👤 A: Olsem wanem? 👤 B: Mi stap gud, tankyu. Mo yu? (I'm fine, thank you. And you?)

Learning just one phrase each day helps keep the beautiful Bislama language alive and encourages more people to speak it with confidence.

❤️ Yumi tokbaot. Yumi lanem. Yumi toktok long Bislama evri dei. (Let's share it. Let's learn it. Let's speak Bislama every day.)
