My childhood favourite, reinvented π₯°
Growing up in Brazil, there was nothing better than warm pΓ£o de queijo and a big dollop of butter slowly melting into the middle π€€π€€π€€
PΓ£o de queijo, literally translates to cheese bread. And where i come from in Brazil, they are absolute staple in every house hold! Show up at nana's house at any time of the day, and she would have a big batch in the oven π₯°
Those are gluten free 'cheesy-strechy-chewy on the inside-crispy on the oustide' - tapioca balls! They must be eaten straight out the oven for the ultimate foodie experience π or, if they get cold, i suggest you cut in half, fill them up with anything you like, and put it in a toasty machine π€€
Food memories and feelings that they bring us, are the reason I became a chef in the first place π©βπ³ I see food, and I can literally taste it in my mouth β¨οΈIts like magic β¨οΈ those gustative memories of the foods I used to eat growing up are still very vivid for me π but, I do miss them a lot!
Lucky for me - and the many other Brazilians who chose Aotearoa as their home - our friends from make and sell the most delicious ones, and even luckier for me, they make them vegan too π
If you live in Otatahi you will probably see them around doing markets! But if you live in TΔmaki Makaurau, you will find them at
Check them out, and give them a try π₯
