This Friday marks the beginning of the Māori New Year, signalled by the rising of the Matariki star cluster, known internationally as the Pleiades. It’s a time to pause, remember and reflect, gather around kai, and look to the future with hope.

It’s a special time of year, and with the cooler weather, there’s no better reason to come together over a warming meal with the people you love.

Whether you’re making fry bread, steamed pudding, looking for the perfect herbs, spices, rubs or marinades for a hearty roast meal or something else outside the box.

Come see us this week and gather everything you need to help set the table this Matariki. 🌟

One month. One action.

Choose plastic free this July and win! Take one simple action to reduce plastic packaging and pick up a habit for a lifetime. 👍

Every action makes a difference:
♻️ Try using a reusable cup or drink bottle.
♻️ Refill a cleaning product.
♻️ Choose reusable shopping bags.
♻️ Why not repair, reuse, recycle – or borrow instead of buying.

Small actions become powerful when a community takes them together.

Tell us your action and go in the draw to win thanks to our amazing sponsors The Cozy Corner Taupo, Bin Inn Taupo, Earthy Foods, Four Square Mangakino and Waste-Ed With Kate. 🌷
