Honey | Pollination | Beekeeping In 2019, Levi and I met during our studies in Auckland.

A few years down the track and a wedding in between, and we're here making our dream come true together! Levi has been beekeeping since he was 13 years old, working under his father. Beekeeping runs throughout the Whitehead Family and is now continued through us. As Christians, our faith is so important to us and isn't something we wanted to shy away from in our business endeavours. We've always marvelled at God and His ability to envision and create, so we're excited to be able to participate in His light through a family trade of ours. Our name is inspired by a passage in the Bible, Psalm 34:4-8, where the psalmist speaks of God's faithfulness to those who call upon Him and ultimately His goodness. Reflecting on this passage and on God's steadfastness and faithfulness came the name, Taste and See. This dream was birthed as a reflection of hope during a very heavy and arduous season for us both. We're so excited and deeply encouraged to be sharing this journey and our creations with you and your loved ones, and we hope you can walk with us through our many mountainous adventures of creating, Taste and See! Blessings,
Levi & Monica x

Snippets from our 2025 Pollination Season 🥝🌼🐝

During this time of the year, Kiwifruit Orchard Managers hire Beekeepers to put hives in their orchards to pollinate the flowers. Those pollinated flowers then later become Kiwifruit 🥝

For us, this is our most stable income. Our orchards pay us an agreed amount per hive, we sign a contract and we get paid a month after Pollination finishes.

When selling commercial honey (which we also do), there is no guarantee when or even if it will sell. That’s less of the case with how the market is doing at the moment, but many beekeepers have struggled to sell over the years when the demand for honey was at an all time low.

We do love doing both and both have their perks. Pollination is our solid income, but honey is ultimately what we love doing and is our favourite part of beekeeping 🤩🍯🐝

New hives, who dis? 👀🤩💚

Actually not new hives, just old hives with a new makeover 🥳 One of our bigger jobs as the weather got warmer was going through all our apiaries and swapping out the old/odd gear with our freshly painted ones.

And after all that painting and prep during the Winter months, our girls are looking very fresh this Spring 🐝🤩🌼
