347.1824/23 is a ram we are using this year. Ticks a lot of the boxes that we are looking for in a productive sheep.

You don’t have to compromise performance when you buy FE tolerant rams anymore and this fella is a good example. Heaps of scope and grunt with a FE test of .67 with a Nil rise.

A little contraption I came up with to clear water lines that are lined with crud causing head loss and dropping flow rate. Might be helpful to someone who is tearing their hair out! I note it goes better if you have it around the other way where you flush air down the line. Feather it in slowly or you with block the pipe and open a joiner down the line so there is some for it to clear out to.

On Friday the 23rd of January we held the inaugural Shedding Sheep improvement group ram assessment day at Piquet Hill. The day was invaluable for the members to assess nominated rams and build a strategy for breeder linkage. We were lucky enough to have Jason Archer and Tricia Johnson talk to us about the importance of connectivness and other important topics impactingour breeding programmes. Congratulations must go to Richard Morrison of the Gullies who had his Ram 2256.156/24 who was voted as the groups Central progeny test nomination and the groups link Ram.

I found this tree in our native a month ago and came back with my helper to just try and show how majestic and special some of these trees are. We’ve named this Rimu Mahanga Nui and it’s a ripper.

You’ve got nothing to loose!
Have a guess on the Real Native post and be in to win a stay (even if you give the voucher away)! An awesome gift for someone who loves a bit of glamping and a bit of a hike 🥾

Talk about being caught red handed!!!

We’re hoping Santa’s sleigh has a better kiddy lock than the toolbox on the ole Landcruiser…. It seems nothing is safe around here!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas 🎄

If any of you have been wondering what we’ve been up to over the last couple of months.
