πΈ Shaken, not stirred.
The martini might be the most famous drink in fiction, and James Bond its most loyal devotee. Long before the films turned it into a catchphrase, Ian Fleming gave 007 a very particular relationship with his drink: exact, intentional, and a little provocative. This wasn't a casual order - it was a ritual.
When Bond asks for his martini shaken, not stirred, he's quietly breaking the rules. Shaking chills a drink faster, yes - but it also softens the edges, adding a touch more dilution and a silkier texture. For traditionalists, that's a no. For Bond, that's the point. When face to face with his enemies, total sobriety is non-negotiable.
The Vesper Martini, named for Vesper Lynd, blurs boundaries in the same way Bond does, and is why it has endured as Bond's signature. It's clean, stripped back, and quietly powerful. No excess. Just balance, clarity, and intent.
We think a great martini should feel the same. Our Sea Salt + Kelp Gin brings a subtle savoury edge and mineral brininess that elevates this classic pour. Shaken or stirred (we prefer stirred, sorry James), it's confident, refined, and endlessly drinkable.
Ingredients:
4 parts chilled Sea Salt + Kelp Gin
1 part Dry Vermouth
Ice
Olive or Lemon Peel Garnish
Call it a modern classic. Bond would approve.
