Well she's been a bit of a wild ride since we opened last Friday.

Woke up Friday morning and could barely breath some moments and in some pretty severe pain. Managed to get through the day and with the consistent nagging of Tina and Ellyse I checked myself into A&e later that evening.

Turns out I had a chronic lung infection and Pneumonia. I thought I'd been feeling a bit under the weather for the last month but put it down to getting older and a busy month with some long days, guess I was wrong.

I've learnt now to maybe see a doctor before things get to bad and that you shouldn't wait till you need morphine to breath or get out of bed 🀣

Big thanks to the team in at Whakatane hospital, all the Doctors Nurses Cooks Cleaners and Staff that helped me and others get better and make our stays as comfortable as possible. Where would we be without our health care teams!πŸ™

Freshly discharged yesterday and my doctors told me to have strict rest for the minimum of the next two weeks, so definitely closed this Friday and maybe the following, its just play it by ear at the moment. Ill end up getting itchy feet pretty soon and will want to be back on the water, but for now im happy to be home and spending some time with the family.

So yeah thanks to everyone we seen last week and I will post up when we're back in action. For now im signing off and will be even less present on Facebook πŸ˜† so flick us a text if you want to know if we're opening up again.

Cheers πŸ‘

Hi everyone 🐟

Open this Friday 12th June from 10.30am

Well we have a nice treat in this week thanks to the boys on the Teepookana, just unloaded a bunch of albacore Tuna this morning from down the wharf. Fresh Fish from a local boat supplying our community, pretty cool if you ask me.

Any ways on the other fish side of things we have Snapper, Kingfish, half a bin of mackerel a couple barracuda and a few species of just one a kind.

Oysters should be arriving in the morning, plus we have Prawns, Paua, Fritters and a few other things I've no doubt forgotten.

We will probably shut up shop early ish tomorrow as I've got to pick my boys up from school before 4, so 3.30 might be last order.

Oh and thanks for all the awesome comments and support on our last post. Im pretty slack when it comes to social media, normally post and forget about it but it means a lot.

Cheers and enjoy your weekend πŸ‘

Well...what a day!
We couldn't seem to shake the line up today no matter how fast we tried to go.

It always amazes us the continued support we get from our community from the coast to Whakatane.

Normally we get line ups like that in the peak of summer but to get it in winter is a awesome buzz. So thank you to everyone that stood in line and everyone that has previously.

Seems like a long time ago that Charles and I would tie our longline hooks and wait for customers to turn up.

Big thanks to Tina who handled the counter in great fashion today and got us through while the boys got work done on the boat and filleted fish for our whole sale customers.

And once again...thanks to all of you that have continued to support us during these challenging times and in our mission of bringing fresh fish to the local market.

Cheers and enjoy your long weekend πŸ‘

Trucks open Friday 8th from 10.30am
Only Snapper and a bin of Kahawai available this week. Oh and 1 trevally and a few gurnard bags.
So many birds flying around we had to double the weights to sink the gear faster to avoid catching any...job accomplished.
Will be just me in the truck tomorrow so might pay not to all arrive at opening as there might be more of a wait than usual.
Cheers and enjoy your weekend πŸ‘

The Suns on its way down and we're on our way in with a fresh catch and will be open in Ohope Friday 17th from hopefully 10.30 if not before lunch.

Bit to organise so may open later than usual but were on our way. Bit of a mish of a day with the wind and deciding whether or not to head out. But we managed a good haul, Snapper, bit of Gurnard, Kahawai and Kingfish.

Sorry for the delay in opening up, things just kept going sideways and the cyclone didn't help. Hope everyone's been keeping well and will see you tomorrow in Ohope

Cheers πŸ‘
