Open this Friday 16th from 10.30am in Ohope

Back at it again this week, beat the storm and got a good selection in.

Scallops are back on the menu as well as West coast whitebait, fresh crayfish also coming along also

Snapper, Gurnard Kahawai and Lemonfish for the Friday fish lovers

Minced Paua, Cooked and Raw Prawns and mussel fritters. Only thing i forgot was to order the oysters on time, but there is frozen and prefrozen from last weeks standing order.

Boats coming along well, passed the mechanical side of survey which was a huge relief, now just need the safety equipment and a few other things.
Shaft, prop and rudder back on, and a huge thanks to Erin who dredges the whakatane and whangamata bar who came and helped me with this....would have been well out of my depth if it wasn't for his knowledge so thanks Erin. Hopefully will be sailing her back next week with a new name and numbers along the side so exciting times for us.

Were planning to open next Friday also and going from there I will update as we go.

Well our schedule and everything else is up in the air at present...literally

Big change of plans this week, its been a headache trying to figure out what was the best way to work everything in. We sailed the boat up to Tauranga Tuesday early morning 2am wake up which wasn't the most enjoyable. Worked late last night dropping the rudder, and freeing the lock nut on the prop.

This morning was a early start pulling off the prop then freeing the coupling to the gearbox, and finally late this arvo we got the shaft out.

Now time to clean the shaft for crack testing and pull out all the sea c***s for inspection. Plus the other non majors.

Tried to nut out the best way to work it, but unfortunately were closed this week. There's still to much to do and surveyor is only free this weekend to check over our old girl.

On the plus side our delivery of whitebait arrived Saturday and scallops were delivered this morning so should have a almost full stock list next week.

Plans have been pushed out and we will be closed from the 30th for maybe 2 weeks. And open next week the 16th and following friday 23rd weather depending.

Open Friday 2nd in Ohope from 10.30am

Been a bit of a roller coaster this week, fishing went from i think our worst day ever on the water to one of the seasons best catches all in a matter of 6 hours or so. Guess that's fishing on the full moon

If you like snapper your in for a treat but other than that there not a lot of bycatch. We've got a handful of gurnard bags, a few Kahawai and some lemonfish. Couple of trevally also showed up with one good size blue cod and one smaller one

Oysters are fat and fresh in today, add to that Australian prawns, Mussel Fritters, frozen Crays, minced Paua and that's about a wrap this week.

Good news is whitebait will be arriving this Saturday or Sunday and will be coming with us next opening. Hopefully our new order of scallops will arrive in time also

Bad news is we are due for our survey and a overhaul so boat is coming out of the water on the 12th so we will be down a week or 2 for the work that needs to be done.

My young fella is away on school holidays so our raffle has been pushed out but will get into it when he gets home

Well she's a bit of a miserable day to sell fish but were on our way to Ohope and will be open from 10.30.

My young fella Tas has been busy this week and has got some delicious Lemons packed into the truck for today. He is raising money to help fund the heating of Ohope beach schools pool so any help with this would make his day.

He will be organising a raffle for the next time we are open and he will let you know what's available 😉

Fish available this week is Snapper Gurnard and Kahawai
Fat northland Mt Farms oysters are in the truck along with Minced Paua Prawns Mussel Fritters and Frozen Crays.

Open this Friday 4th in Ohope from 10.30am till the last fish swims off

Boats been out this week, nothing too exciting pretty slow fishing where we were. Even the snapper were off the chew.

Snapper Kahawai and a bin of gurnard and also a couple of skate.
Fresh oysters arriving today
Minced Paua
Cooked and Raw prawns
Mussel and Paua fritters
Crayfish
Smoked Kahawai if it turns out ok
And that's about all I think

Open tomorrow Friday 21st in Ohope from 10.30am

Well what a day. 3am start and not a tarakihi in sight so it was all worth it. First shot out deep was appalling so we steamed 10miles to one of our best spots and just managed to get enough to open. The engine was about the only one happy with her day as she got a gooood drink.

Fishing was poor but we managed to bag enough for the truck all be it snapper....but have we got a treat for you this week.....some beautiful bastard cod. Don't let the name fool you as you'd be a silly bastard to turn down this opportunity! Known for their sweet, white, firm flesh, many anglers would take them over hapuka! Not the prettiest of things but they make up for it in taste.....
But all jokes aside they're not too bad eating if you batter them, flesh is very flaky/soft but its not the worst fish I've eaten, certainly not in my top 50 tho either.

Few other options like some sea perch, a few blue mackerel, Porae(from the same family as Tarakihi so we were getting close), a couple blue cod and some lemon fish and trusty snapper.

Crayfish and packhorse are on the menu as well as fritters prawns minced paua and a few others

We may be operating fortnightly for a bit but will try open as regularly as possible. Also the ph number on the page is still down as I haven't had a chance to transfer it to a new sim.

Too much to the bro Rys that helped us out today you done mean, better not bring those red bands on the boat next time tho bro, white gumboots only no bad luck 🤣🤣

Hi everyone🐟

Boats heading out nice and early tomorrow morning and we plan to be open this Friday 21st catch dependant

We were sposed to be out there today but forecast didnt look that great for off shore. Heading out deep to try target some tarakihi. Fingers crossed we can pick some up it would be a nice change from snapper lol.

Apologies for delay in contact for those who messaged last week asking if we were open, I'm still getting used to messenger and for some reason they take days to come through sometime. But just a friendly reminder no post come Thursday evening means were closed.

Minced Paua punnets are arriving tomorrow, no fresh oysters in this as they've been rained off but pre frozen punnets for 20 each. Crayfish will be coming in the truck also with packhorse crays for a larger option.

We will update tomorrow evening if there's time with what fish is available and any other products that come to mind.
