The kind of post that sits in your drafts while you pretend you’re “just finding the right words,” when really, you’re not ready to let go.

After a lot of heartache, honest conversations, big feelings, and the kind of quiet acceptance that doesn’t come easy, we’ve made the incredibly hard decision to close Funk with Food.

And maybe this isn’t goodbye forever.But for now, we’re taking our bow.A humble one.A teary one.A bacon-covered one.

This Saturday, is a proper neighbourhood takeover — the kind where everyone’s welcome and nobody’s in a rush.

🎉THE BLOCK PARTY 🎉

Here’s the sitch:
☕️ Lottie — slinging coffees, chats, and pure main-bacon lady energy
🥓 Brân — slinging bacon jams + relishes that absolutely steal the show

But wait… there’s more 👀
🍻 Alcohol flowing (responsibly, obviously)
🎶 Live music bringing the vibes
👨‍👩‍👧 Family-friendly activities so the little legends are sorted too

This is a stay-a-while situation.
Coffee for the early birds, bacon for everyone, a drink for later, music in the air, kids laughing, neighbours yarning — the good stuff.

No pressure. No “too cool for this” energy.
Just community, small businesses, and food & drink doing what they’re meant to do: bringing people together.

Okay confession time 😅
Sorry I dropped the ball on socials — turns out when you’re juggling bacon dreams, coffee cups, and absolute legends like Dark Horse Coffee ☕️ and Funk With Food 🍴… Instagram sometimes gets left on read.

But let it be known:
❌ I did NOT quit the bacon life
❌ The jam did NOT stop flowing
❌ The Bacon Lady did NOT calm down

I’ve been busy learning, hustling, getting inspired, and levelling up — fuelled by good coffee, good people, and a slightly unhinged love for bacon 🥓

I’m back, I’m buzzing, and there’s plenty more delicious chaos coming.

There was a moment where staying comfortable felt heavier than taking the risk.

So we took the leap — not because we had everything figured out, but because we couldn’t ignore the pull anymore.

This bacon business started with a love for feeding people and grew into long days, late nights, self-doubt, small wins, and a whole lot of heart.

We’ve learned as we’ve gone, made mistakes, and kept showing up anyway.

It’s not perfect. It’s real.
And we’re proud we chose to try rather than always wonder.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported, tasted, shared, and believed in this from the beginning. We’re only just getting started.
