Today our calves got a new paddock 🌱🐄 They are growing well and now really tucking into the grass. It was a workout getting them moved from paddock to paddock and through the sheep and lambs haha but we got there 😮‍💨

Last night 🌜at around 10.15pm our last lamb was born.
I've been watching this ewe for about 3/4 days now. She's been very isolated and not eating much so thought she would have lambed earlier.
Around 9pm she was in active labour. We left her to it and then by 10pm went and checked on her and there was only a hoof.
I decided not long after to intervene. Lucky I did as she didn't come out easily (very big lamb) and was covered in meconium and had inhaled some also 😔 We hung her upside down very briefly to help clear her lungs, checked her airways. Mum was drying her off and eventually wee lamb stood which was a great sign. She was crackling when breathing but seemed strong. I hoped for the best.
This morning 🌅 wee lamb is standing, feeding and no longer has the crackling in her breathing. So looking great. I'll keep monitoring her but I think we're going to be fine 🩷

Thursday and Friday felt like a true Spring 🌼🌱 Day. So warm and finally our place had nearly dried out. I've been mowing lawns for about 3 days. We have huge lawns and I've been mowing as they have been drying lol Sadly more rain today 😔
We've had two hens hatch out chickens 🐣 17 wee chickens in total.
Flo's lambs look not so yellow anymore. She's been a great mum like usual.
Tomorrow we'll be bringing them in to start tailing etc just waiting for the sun to come out again 😃

This morning Flo finally had her lambs 🐑🐑

I went out to do my morning check and sure enough like last year there was a head sticking out and Flo looked like she'd given up 😥

I raced inside and cleaned my hands/arms well and then went back out knowing I'd need to 'play midwife' all by myself get these lambs out. Anyway fast forward things, a few minutes later I had them both out. They are both huge ram lambs, both alive. Have been stressed but seem to look good for now. Flo's alot happier, I'm lucky she's a lovely ewe and trusts me 🩷

Yesterday mornings check ✔️ showed that Marshmallow had lambed. I thought just one lamb as she's getting pretty old now 10 maybe 11 years old. Last year was her first time she'd not had twins/triplets or even quads. She just had one so I was expecting this year to be the same or possibly none. She was standing in the paddock with one lamb so I thought that was great. One was perfect. Then I heard bleating from waay down the paddock. A very young lamb bleat. Anyway it turned out she'd had twins. I brought the lamb to her. She didn't completely reject it but they weren't quite clicking. Wee lamb didn't seem interested in her either. I did leave them all together for the day but as the afternoon rolled around little lamb was hunching up, tummy wasn't rounded and he continued to cry. So inside he came. He's thriving now that he's fed. Mum still wasn't very interested in him this morning and he wasn't interested in her so I'm guessing we now have a bottle 🍼 baby.

I am open to rehoming him though. He's not free as he's 50% Babydoll. He's having a great start on Jump Start. He's alert and healthy.
