Why Waipu? Part Five

Because local is literally on the shelves.

One of the things I love about Origin Northland is how much of our local community you can find under one roof.

From Belle Chevre Creamery and Left Fields, to Aotearoa Grown, Maungatapere Mushrooms, Pinenut Bakery, Epic Coffee and The Chocolate Barn, there are so many local growers, makers and producers represented right here in Waipu.

That’s what makes places like Origin so special. You're not just shopping locally; you're supporting the people who grow, bake, create and produce incredible products right here in our own backyard.

It's another little reminder of why I love Waipu, our community has some seriously good local talent.

And let's be honest... walking into Origin and leaving with only what you went in for? Nearly impossible.

What's your favourite local product at Origin?

Founder, father, friend, goat dad, husband, beloved boss and favourite customer! David Rodrigue passed away last week. He loved his goats, his w**e, his music, his chocolate and his muesli. We will miss his great taste in w**e, smiles, and laughter. He had a beautiful quote he loved about NZ w**e I'd like to share with you all in his honour.

For anybody who has visited New Zealand, you will understand what I mean when I say that the colours there seem brighter, the personalities bigger and the energy for life so great. I finally understood this "dialled up" expression I perceived in their w**es as merely a translation of life in this truly beautiful place.
