Their farm is situated just 10 minutes from the wonderful small township of Waipu in Northland New Zealand. Our herd of suri alpacas has grown dramatically from an initial purchase of elite suri females and we now have top class herdsires, some of which are available for outside matings. Here at Kandiah Alpacas our breeding goals are to produce suri alpaca with exceptional fineness, lustre and han
dle so that the fleeces can be used to produce luxury clothing. Good quality alpaca fibre is amazing and once you have worn it next to your skin you will never go back to products made from sheep's wool. It is particularly suitable for baby clothes and blankets because of it's hypo allergenic qualities. Kandiah Alpacas specialise in breeding the rare suri alpaca that represent only 10% of the world population of alpaca. Suri alpaca have wonderful fleeces with flowing locks that are often described as "curtains of silk". The Incas described it as "fibre of the Gods". We are very proud of our breeding achievements, having produced multiple Supreme Champions. One of these is now for sale - Kandiah Tiaho who has won no less than 12 broad ribbons. We also have some excellent suri breeding females for sale - both coloured and white.
