Another glorious spring day, and another day of planting 🌱

Our friend Aimee from Tukipo Nursery has grown us some unique and interesting plants, plus some delicious favourites. Most of them are for chicken forage and shade, but we reckon the egg collectors are going to love the berries and fruits too🫐🍐🍑

Blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries and currants. Plus prickly little gooseberries - they’re not much fun to plant 😜🌵

We’ve used plant guards from Advance Landscape Systems to protect the plants from the chickens stripping the leaves off and digging up the roots. Once they’re past chicken height they’ll grow well.

And that’s me, trying to catch a chicken who escaped into the ‘chicken proof’ area.
Hahaha!
Anyone who has chickens knows there’s no such thing 🐔
