Finally had a calm and sunny day, so I couldn't resist one last ride down the Twizel canals before making the drive home.

I'm a bit sad to be leaving this place! It's been the BEST month down here.

Backcountry huts in the Oteake Conservation Park.

I spent 4 days in here with the horses, stayed in a couple of lovely little DOC huts, and made it through the coldest temperatures I've ever experienced!

This about sums up how my few days in Oteake went. I've never experienced such cold!

Still had a great time though. Amazing riding through there and I will definitely be back in better weather to explore some more!

The past week.

4 days in the Oteake Conservation Park and then straight into the Ahuriri Valley for the following 4 days.

It's been quite the wild ride, but I'm now safely back in Twizel. More updates to come!

This also sadly concludes my month on the road. I've met some amazing people along the way and ridden in some stunning places. Time has gone way too quickly though and there's so much more I wanted to see. However, this has only been a trial run and it's safe to say I've had the time of my life, so next year I'll set out again... but this time with no plans to return home!!

Just a little clip from today to say we are alive and well!

Finished one adventure and I’m straight off to the next one, so will be back out of reception for another few days. See you then!
