Pim and Mark are best known around here for growing the Syrah and Viognier fruit that goes into our wines.

What many people don't know is that Pim is also the chef behind and has Michelin stars to her name.

To celebrate the end of harvest, Pim took over the kitchen and spoiled the team with what was undoubtedly one of the finest winery lunches we've enjoyed in a very long time.

The food was extraordinary, the company even better, and even Dodgy seemed happy with the spice levels.

The release of our Poppies Pinot Noir 2025 for Subscription and Club Members.

We have rarely felt this level of excitement internally about a Pinot Noir release. For us, this is one of the most exciting wines we have produced to date.

While sharing this release with perhaps more enthusiasm than usual at our recent member events in Auckland and Wellington, the response only reinforced what we already felt internally — that there is something incredibly special about this 2025 Pinot Noir.

A wine of remarkable harmony, purity, and composure, this feels like an important step forward for Poppies.

We’re incredibly proud to have been named one of The Real Review’s Top 20 Wineries of New Zealand 2026 ( #19), alongside our Rosé being recognised as a finalist for Rosé Wine of the Year — ranked #7 out of all rosés tasted this year.

While the Rosé received special recognition, this acknowledgement really reflects the consistency and quality of the entire Poppies range.

Our Rosé has always been about texture, savoury detail and freshness, rather than simply fruitiness, and to see it recognised in this way is very special for our small team.
