Aaaaaaand... we're live! Finally the Little Green Garage website is up and running.

Chefs, café owners and catering companies can now browse our full range of fresh microgreens and herbs online. And if you're a home cook or into healthy eating, you can subscribe to locally grown microgreens delivered straight to your door.

Thanks to everyone who's supported us along the way. We're looking forward to growing with you.

Yes, the Little Green Garage is indeed a garage.. but perhaps not exactly what you were expecting.

Here’s a look inside the grow room. I love all the colours and the variety of shapes and textures of the different seedlings. It’s a very calming place to hang out.

The trays on the bottom two racks are in germination. Each tray stays in the germination phase covered and usually with a heavy weight for between 3 - 8 days depending on the crop.

Most crops then move to a blackout phase for 1 - 4 days where the cover and weight are removed but they are still denied light to encourage good stem growth.

Finally the seedlings are moved into the light where they begin to green up and develop into microgreens ready for harvest. This can take anywhere between 5 days for a fast growing crop like pea shoots, up to 3 weeks for some of the slower growing micro herbs.

They are defiantly labour intensive crops but the end results are so tasty and nutritious they’re well worth the effort.
