Happy Saturday, Wellington!
Well, what a beautiful week we have had. City beaches were full and the summer vibe had definitely arrived. So nice after our winter and it really adds something to peoples psyche, I think. That Vitamin D!
Come and get prepared for the week as well as a bit of chill time.
It’s about now that everyone’s looking ahead to the end of year school fairs/festivals and the Xmas break. Hard to believe we are planning that again!
With that in mind Saturday 7th November sees the Hightide Music Festival at Waitangi Park again. A second year for them in Wellington and it’s looking just as good. The market will operate as normal on the Sunday.
Last Sunday was a cracker. The waterfront was vibrant.

🐾 Meet Zevon – Our ! 🐾
Say hi to Zevon, a beautiful 5-year-old Hungarian Vizsla from Wadestown currently. Being dog sat by his human (Andrew) owners’ parents (Ross & Liz) , while he is overseas. But actually, today here at the market with Elise and Shang from Petone. Got that?
Named after Warren Zevon (favourite musician) he is out day tripping, enjoying the sun, sounds and smells. He especially loves pigeons and instinctually becomes very alert and excited when he’s near any.
His human owners brother actually has a Vizsla in New York also!
Elise and Shang love the market for its pies, flowers sometimes, and a coffee using our Mugcycle programme.

Happy Saturday, Wellington!
Bit of a wild end to the week with 4 seasons in a day type thing.
Just when I thought I wouldn’t be needing any more firewood we get a little cold snap to keep us on our toes. First week back into the school term and things are ramping up. Make sure you have everything you need for lunch boxes so that part is sorted.

It’s about now that everyone’s looking ahead to the end of year school fairs/festivals and the Xmas break. Hard to believe we are planning that again!

With that in mind this Saturday 17th October sees Spring into Tawa Festival. All your favourite foodies will be there plus a heap of other stuff going on.

Last Sunday was a solid day. The rain came and went but it turned into a decent day. The waterfront was vibrant with a stretched-out holiday vibe.
Wellingtons cruise season isn’t far away either. It will begin on 25 October 2026. 54 Cruise Vessels are scheduled to call, with the 26/27 season set to end on April 2, 2027. Always adds some vibrancy to the city.
No doubt those that berth over the weekend will make their way around the waterfront and through the market.

Big shout out to all the markets amazing stallholders who turn up every 7 days for the city. Many have been doing it for over 20 years! Together, with them you have created a place where people connect, local businesses are supported and Wellington’s waterfront comes alive.

• The Bay Florist — One day, one stall, full of spring vibes. Kevin will be bringing buckets of tulips, market bunches cut that morning. Beside the market office.

🐾 Meet Bonnie – Our ! 🐾
Say hi to Bonnie, the cutest 4-month-old Pug you will see who is visiting with humans Hannah & Nick from Khandallah.
This is her very 1st visit! Only just allowed to be out and about in public on the ground. Welcome to the world Bonnie.
She came from a litter of 4 in Pahiatua and will shortly be travelling to Christchurch to meet a few more pugs on a family trip. That would be a cute scene.
She is Amy and Nicks first dog although they did grow up with some in their families.
They love coming to the market for their weekly produce and eggs plus Dirty Donuts, Greek Truck Souvlaki, Kuki Boy and Jennys dumplings. Maybe not all on the same day!
Bonnie is quite bossy and thinks she is bigger than reality shows. She loves chasing toes and socks at home. Bonnie is quite a foodie and cries by coffee machine until she gets her Puppuccino. After a bit of exercise and when she’s a bit tired its time to be carried, as her picture shows.
Look out for her next time you’re at the market.

Happy Saturday, Wellington!

Another week has flown by, and we’re heading into the final days of the school holidays. I hope you’ve enjoyed some sunshine, family time and a chance to recharge.
Last Sunday was a cracker at Harbourside Market! The waterfront was buzzing with familiar faces, new visitors, great food, coffee, live music and plenty of sunshine. It was a wonderful reminder of what makes our market so special.

Harbourside Market is more than a market — it’s our community.
It’s the staff and stallholders who arrive early, the volunteers who lend a hand, the musicians who bring the atmosphere, and all of you who come along week after week. Together, we create a place where people connect, local businesses thrive and Wellington’s waterfront comes alive.

🐾 Meet Potato – Our ! 🐾
Say hi to Potato, a cute 8-year-old Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky) cross who is visiting with humans Amy & Jimmy from Ngaio.
Named after his shape as a puppy Potato is very interested in food. Meat and cheese are the go-to. (Not potatoes) Waiting here patiently for a scrap of halloumi.
Originally from a breeder in Tauranga Amy found him via Trade Me.
When visiting the market occasionally Amy's favourite is the Greek Food Truck and Jimmys is Shouk. Then if treating themselves an Espresso Rescue coffee and Dirty Donut.
Potatoes icy blue eye is from the Husky side and a fun fact is that he was quite the runner when younger. In fact, he did marathon training with Amy and completed a 4 Paws Marathon in Christchurch. 32 kms.
He loves kids and puppies but not cats so much. Gets a bit of fomo and lets you know about it with a loudish bark. Just the 1 volume apparently.
He also thinks everyone is his best friend and doesn’t read social cues well. Funny.

Happy Saturday, Wellington!
I really can’t believe how fast the weeks seem to be going at the moment! I’m sure I’m not alone and definitely not the first to say it but gees!
It’s nice having a bit more light at the end of the day though as it signifies summer is close.
I hope you’ve all had a great day doing whatever Saturday brought for you.
Last Sunday was a real struggle. Many out of towners can’t believe how we manage to operate on some of these Wellington days, but we do, and safely. Looking forward to a better forecast for tomorrow so there’s no excuse not to come down and get amongst it. There’s plenty on and all your favourite foodies will be here. The waterfront should be busy mid holidays.
If you venture along the waterfront and around the city keep an eye out for the “Bee in the City” art trail. A fundraising project supporting Life Flight.
There’s always surprises planned and unplanned here at the market. It’s always a great place to be.
