Based in Christchurch, Aureate creates handcrafted cupcakes, unbaked treats, and packaged goods for all occasions – from celebrations to everyday sweet cravings. We're regulars at local night markets, and also take custom orders for events, gifts, or just because. We cater to all dietary requirements – including gluten-free, vegan, and raw – and love a good baking challenge! Almost any flavour, sh

ape, quantity, or dietary requirement can be tackled, just ask. Only free-range eggs are used in each and every batch (unless it’s egg-free of course). Introducing the Aureate clean-up crew 🐔🌱

Not all of our food waste ends up in the compost! Where suitable, leftovers from production are put to good use by our very happy chickens (and our rabbits, too!).

Anything we can’t use or repurpose gets composted, helping us keep food waste to a minimum and creating a closed-loop waste system.

Sustainability is something we’re always thinking about, and the chickens are pretty happy with our efforts! 🐔✨

A little more thought behind the jar. 🌱

We’re always looking for ways to make our packaging and production more sustainable, without compromising the product.

Our glass jars are reusable and widely recyclable in New Zealand, and our retail cartons are made from cardboard here in NZ. We’ve also designed the cartons to provide their own internal support, so there’s no need for extra packaging materials.

We source our jars and labels locally where we can, compost our food waste or feed it to our chickens and rabbits, and are currently working towards paper labels for our next print runs.

Small changes, but ones that add up. ♻️

This is Kara’s vegan, gluten-free raspberry chocolate wedding cake, created for her wedding at the beautiful Sign of the Takahe. 🍫🍓

A chocolate cake paired with raspberry, made to suit a vegan and gluten-free celebration. We had fun creating this one for one of our long time customers.
