Wakas Fryd Yeast Bread My sister sold fryd yeast bread at Albert st market in Palmerston north. So I started frying bread there.

I watched her make her dough and couldnt believe how much yeast she used 2 mix up 10 kgs flour ....and when i saw how high her dough rose ...it was like capital OMG couldnt believe it 1 tspn of yeast and i aint kidding either . afta umpteen ph calls from my sister bout making money and the market, I decided 2 go and hav a look at porirua market ....but i said 2 her ...if theres one person out there doing fry bread well i wont do it and lo and behold ...no one was doing it. A month later my sister passed away. After sitting around moping an idea was born.....my husband said....why dont u call yr bread wakas fryd yeast bread, she will still live and will neva b 4gotten ....so afta 20yrs she is still with us. People come home 4 a holiday from australia come 2 the market and take bac with them bags of bread....so waka is very famous lol, even 2 the extent of these 3 white sth african woman coming 2 the front person of our stall and asking him ....which white south african man showed her how to make this bread lol. was truly blown away and so honored tht other cultures do the same mixture but call it something else

Lunch all sorted....heat soft bacon bones watercress cabbage bought from stalls at waitangirua market.....with the real deal rewana paraoa... same market. ....finished with cream and primo steamed golden syrup pudding again from waitangirua market.....all the good stuff tht you want....cream paua on fryd yeast bread....mussel fritters.....seafood chowder...pana Keke....roti....kebabs....yr veges ....even yr meat....oh and clothes even...dam was just writing up bout our lunch....sorta got carried away...oh and not 4getting contemporary cloaks....lots of stuff 4 u

Yesterday come outa daily bread in waiwhetu and looked....heck wen did someone scrape the side of my bumper....I rubbed my hand ova the paint from the other car and I was really stunned and disappointed....went round to the drivers side just bout to open the door and their were people looking bac at me....huh....looked up and my car was parked 2 carparks up further.....big relief cause I looked at my bumper.....no scrape marks.....so funny ....same color and make...a .little swift....such a majical car and cheap to run....good little runabout

Had a fabulous spring break with 2 friends and we flew to Auckland. For the weekend..such a busy busy city...a mini Sydney....while waiting for a bus to take us downtown we started chatting to this mother and daughter....she came from tawa and her mum from new brighton and they were of to a concert at western springs....we parted our ways and i bumped into them again at the casino.....this is me....oh hey since you live in tawa do you eva go to the market in waitangirua...their faces lit up and they both said.....knew I seen u b4 ....u do the fried bread there....aint tht just amazing aye....make something so memorable you will b remembered.....made my day . Wish I had taken a photo of them

What an amazing week....was blessed from the best. ..poha kina from rob Cameron....ty ty for the generous kai gift...and come home from waitangirua market on Saturday to a bagful of kina....another generous kai gift from my tino whanaunga Wally Taingahue ...I am so blessed

....we start selling at bout 5 30am Saturdays at waitangirua market....the early birds got hot fryd bread.. reminds me holidaying in opotiki with uncle patarana Smith and aunty marara...wake up and there's hot crusty bread....dont no if it was delivered or uncle walked to the bakery ...I just enjoyed the hot bread....wonder if anyone else from opo remembers that
