Also on Thursday the first of the white mob dropped her lamb.

Thursday.

Wednesday; another day another set of twin lambs. Almost a tragedy. The first was out no problem. All that was visible of the second one was the toes of one foot, pointing down. That's a back leg; a breech birth. Prompt action saved the situation. Pictures tomorrow when they have settled.

The excitement continues. Overnight Daisy surprised us by giving birth to this beautiful White Park heifer. Sadly there is a downside. Daisy had delivered twins. The other was a bull calf that wasn't alive. Any female that is a twin with a male has a 90% chance of being sterile (known as a 'Freemartin'). This is due to the exchange of male hormones via a shared placenta.

The pace is picking up. Today we have Caramel safely delivering triplets.

A White Park birth to catch up. Princess Moonflower delivered this girl at 11 pm on 7 November last year. Staying with the names this is Candytuft.

And we have a start. The first lambs of 2026. We put all our black (and brownish) ewes with a jet black ram and our first lambs are a pigeon pair.
