Vat Guard is a smart dairy shed alert system designed to protect milk loss and contamination.

One tap. One mistake. Thousands at risk.

A look at Vat Guard on our trial farms, real sheds, real farmers and a simple idea with an important purpose.

Designed by dairy farmers, Vat Guard detects the position of the vat tap and provides visible signals in the shed to help milkers stay aware of whether milk is directed to the vat or the drain.

An extra check to help protect your milk and your hard work.

Turn. Detect. Alert.

Vat Guard on farm in Dunsandel!

We recently visited a Synlait owned farm in Dunsandel, where one of our Vat Guard trial systems is being put through its paces.

We caught up with farm manager Nicky Halley to hear how the system has been working for their team. We came away with some really positive feedback and valuable insights from its use in a working dairy shed.

As dairy farmers ourselves, it means a lot to see Vat Guard being used on farm and hear directly from the people using it. Their feedback is helping us fine tune the system as we get closer to having it ready for sale.

A big thanks to Nicky and the team for your time, feedback and for being part of our trial journey!

Big news for Vat Guard! 🌱

We’re incredibly excited and proud to share that Vat Guard has been selected as part of the Sprout Accelerator Cohort!

Being chosen to join this programme is a huge milestone for us and an exciting step forward as we continue developing technology that helps protect New Zealand’s dairy farmers from costly milk contamination.

What started as an idea on our own dairy farm has grown into something we believe can make a real difference across the industry. Now, we’ll be working alongside an amazing group of innovators, mentors, and industry experts to strengthen our business, refine our vision, and prepare Vat Guard for the next stage of growth. The Sprout Accelerator supports early-stage agrifood ventures through a three-month programme focused on building strong startup foundations and connecting founders with industry expertise and opportunities. (Sprout Agritech)

A huge thank you to the Sprout team for believing in what we’re building, and to everyone who has supported us along the way. We can’t wait to learn, grow, and share this journey with you all.

The best is yet to come! 💚💙
