A quick pre-Christmas check-in and a peek at what’s coming 🤩
Because we can’t leave the house without being asked “when will you be opening??”, we thought we’d share a quick little update before we head into the Christmas break (aka a not-a-break-at-all).
Good news first: our building plans have been approved. This is excellent, because until that happens, you can’t actually build things. And as mentioned once or twice, we do need a few things done first: extra toilets, proper ventilation, sinks, a ramp, and a new gate.
Once the building work is finished, the friendly folks from council need to come through and sign everything off. After that, we can apply for a CCC. Something we didn’t know existed until recently, but something we very much need. Once we have that, we'll also get our alcohol license and can finally start serving drinks.
So, when will that be? We’re hoping for late January or early February. Hoping being the key word here. There are a lot of moving parts and plenty of things outside our control, but you better believe we’re doing everything we can to keep things moving.
The little illustration you see here is a very rough sneak preview of what we’re working towards. Think “artist’s impression”, not “architectural drawings”. No measurements, no guarantees, but a glimpse of the kind of space we’re dreaming up. Now we just need to get through the paperwork, the building dust, and the final sign-offs so we can actually let you in. 💫
