Okopako Lodge - Wilderness Farm Okopako Lodge provides accommodation in a rural/garden setting with panoramic views of the Hokianga. All beds are fully made up.

Okopako Lodge is situated is on a family farm and has large decks with panoramic views of the countryside, native bush and Hokianga Harbour. Okopako provides reasonably priced accommodation for groups, families and individuals within a rural eco-farm and gardens setting. The spacious lodge has a comfortable lounge with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and large sun decks looking out over the H

okianga harbour, countryside and native bush. Double, twin, family or single rooms are available as well as onsite caravans, camp sites and camper van parking areas with a separate amenities block. Ideal for family and tramping groups. Fresh organic produce, homemade bread and farmhouse meals may be available (depending on Covid-19 settings). An organic vegetable garden, established fruit trees and a worm farm are features of Okopako. The accommodation facilities run on a 12-volt lighting system. DOC walkways begin at the gate and some walks on the farm itself are possible. Half of the farm is in native kauri forest which you can enjoy spectacular views out over from Mountain Road. Stargaze while listening to the Morepork and Kiwis call at night – no need for a TV here! Not far from Opononi and Omapere beaches for Hokianga Harbour and cultural activities and a short drive to Waipoua Kauri Forest. The area is known for its relaxed natural beauty and vibrant arts community.

Those with existing bookings are still welcome to stay and will be contacted personally to make check in arrangements.

The RSA Welfare & Poppy Trust partially sponsors a local Hokianga young person on the R. Tucker Thompson youth development voyages. The Trust sent a thank you, a report of this year’s recipient Te Amotai (Tai) Klaricich's experience from the crew. As well as Tai's, thank you letter. Throughout the journey, Te Amotai stepped beyond his comfort zones, embraced teamwork, and grew as a leader. He reconnected with the ocean, culture, and himself, gaining practical skills, clarity of purpose, and a deeper sense of identity. Thanks to your support, Te Amotai didn’t just sail, he transformed, returning home more resilient, self-aware, and ready to lead with pride and purpose. Ngā mihi nui for being part of this kaupapa and helping unlock the potential of our future leaders.
