Okopako Lodge is situated is on a family farm and has large decks with panoramic views of the countryside, native bush and Hokianga Harbour. Okopako provides reasonably priced accommodation for groups, families and individuals within a rural eco-farm and gardens setting. The spacious lodge has a comfortable lounge with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and large sun decks looking out over the Hokianga harbour, countryside and native bush. Double, twin, family or single rooms are available as well as onsite caravans, camp sites and camper van parking areas with a separate amenities block. Ideal for family and tramping groups. Fresh organic produce, homemade bread and farmhouse meals may be available (depending on Covid-19 settings). An organic vegetable garden, established fruit trees and a worm farm are features of Okopako. The accommodation facilities run on a 12-volt lighting system. DOC walkways begin at the gate and some walks on the farm itself are possible. Half of the farm is in native kauri forest which you can enjoy spectacular views out over from Mountain Road. Stargaze while listening to the Morepork and Kiwis call at night – no need for a TV here! Not far from Opononi and Omapere beaches for Hokianga Harbour and cultural activities and a short drive to Waipoua Kauri Forest. The area is known for its relaxed natural beauty and vibrant arts community.
