Spring cleaning quickly escalated to Spring re-modelling. We've relocated the counter and created a designated floristry area with room for the pending homewares collection too. We absolutely love it!

Asparagus - what a treat!

We do believe NZ, seasonal produce is preferable but there are some things we have to bend the rules on ... bananas & pineapples for example, & as it turns out, Asparagus! It is grown right here in North Canterbury, indoors, and is the prelude to the outdoor Asparagus season.

It's jolly delicious, tender & fresh, & in store for as long as supply allows. Don't miss out!

Summer won't be far away but first Spring. Mornings like this mean spring cleaning, ditching Netflix for socialising and switching red w**e for white!

Dinner (or lunch) inspired by our mid week ⭐️Mushroom Special ⭐️ - only $10.99/kg and our small bags of baby spinach - great to not have to get a big bag that sometimes doesn't get used.
Scrambled eggs with lots of butter, seasoning and maybe some chilli oil!
Top tip - lightly sautè the mushrooms separately before adding to the egg, stops the eggs getting watery and gets more favour from the mushrooms.
Delish!

Best served with Grizzly sourdough toast of course!

We had a couple of accidental intruders yesterday (which wasn't great) ... but it served to prove the alarm system, cameras and kind neighbours have our backs!

It's a funny story and too long to share here but for those who need reminding - we are clsed on Mondays, as per our winter hours. We will return to 7 days a week before too long. Spring is in the air - albeit a cool brisk version today!
