❤️ A little goodbye…
After almost three years of cooking breakfast and lunch at the market every week, I’ve made the very difficult decision to step away.
For personal reasons, this past week was my last. It all happened very suddenly and, if I’m honest, I’m really sad about it.
That market became such a big part of my life over the last three years. And it was never just about the food.
It was about you guys. ❤️
The familiar faces arriving each week. The big smiles and “Good morning, Maria!” The people who already knew what they wanted before they even reached the table. The hugs, the little chats, the stories about what was happening in your lives, the laughs — and the people who would stop just to say hello.
Somewhere along the way, you stopped feeling like customers and started feeling like friends.
Some of you have been with me from the very beginning, and I honestly cannot thank you enough for the support you’ve given me and Sizzle & Spice.
There were good days, crazy days, and plenty of days when I was exhausted and wondering why on earth I was doing this! 😂 But then someone would walk up with a smile, give me a hug and say, “Maria, we missed you last week!” — and suddenly it all felt worthwhile again.
That is what I will miss the most.
I’m incredibly grateful that I had the chance to become part of this little community. You welcomed me, supported me, encouraged me and gave me so many wonderful memories that I’ll carry with me.
So I really don’t know what else to say except thank you.
Thank you for every breakfast and lunch you bought.
Thank you for every recommendation.
Thank you for bringing your friends.
Thank you for the conversations, the laughs and the hugs.
And thank you for making me feel like I belonged.
I’m deeply saddened that it has ended so suddenly, and I wish I could have said a proper goodbye to each of you.
But I don’t want this to be a sad goodbye.
I want to remember these three years for what they really were — three years of good food, good people, lots of laughs and some very special friendships. ❤️
I hope I see many of you again somewhere down the road.
And if you see me around, please don’t walk past without saying hello. ❤️
With a very grateful heart,
Maria xx
