South Pacific Brewery through our corporate social responsibility continues to speak out against social issues through various campaigns and partnerships.
As a responsible corporate citizen, SP Brewery is genuinely concerned with the impact of violence on Papua New Guinean society over the years.
We consider ourselves in a unique position to speak out against violence. We will do this by taking a bold move to speak out against violence through SP Lager, our iconic and highly respected Papua New Guinean brand.
Today, we partnered with the Department for Community Development & Religion (DFCDR), through its National Gender-Based Violence Secretariat (NGVBS), by signing a MoU.
“By partnering with the Secretariat, we wish to align with the government’s National GBV Strategy and leverage support from these mandated government agencies to build a credible and effective campaign that will inspire behavioral change in PNG,” says Managing Director Ed Weggemans.
The campaign and partnership demonstrate SP Brewery's commitment to our company values which are:
• Passion for Customers and Consumers
• Courage to dream and pioneer
• Enjoyment of life and
• Care for people and planet.
Moving forward, we envision a robust partnership with the Secretariat and Department, not only to support SP Brewery’s delivery of a campaign that inspires behavioural change but also to inspire other corporates and organizations to forge such partnerships and take an explicit stand against violence as well.
