“LUCCIOLE” is an Italian word for Fireflies (alitaptap), which are quite abundant and continue to thrive around the rolling hills, uncharted streams and ponds of Amadeo. These fascinating and magical creature
s play an important role in harmonizing the ecosystem and biodiversity of the natural environment; hence, we nurture their habitat by minimizing Human traffic, decrease Light pollution and eliminate the use of toxic Chemicals. Firefly is a Sign of Summer. It’s the best time to freely wander in a secured private countryside and experience the Joy of growing your own food the “NATURAL WAY”. The Integrated Natural FamilyFarming ways at Lucciole is relatively unique from your huge Commercial and other conventional Organic farms. We believe that the Earth cultivates by itself; thus, we emphasize on simple small-scale farming ways that demands less human-supplied inputs and basically mimic the perfect balancing act of Nature, which our Creator has already provided for humans to Enjoy a Simple, yet Abundant LIFE.. LUCCIOLE recognizes the inherent value of our healthy SOIL, the energy from the SUN, clean AIR and WATER; consequently, we minimize the practice of heavily tilling our Soil with machines, intensive weeding, rigorous pruning and the extensive use of both synthetic and concocted organic fertilizers/ pesticides. However, we improve our Simple, Cost-Efficient & Sustainable farming ways by enhancing the proven benefits of Composting, Intercropping, Crop-Rotation, Companion Planting, Integrated waste and pest management. LUCCIOLE produces only what their family members and close friends want to eat; but oftentimes, it reserves a portion of the farm for their limited clients and chefs who wish to offer the added value of fresh and naturally grown products.
