Here are our TOP 5 reasons why we love Rhino for designing our bamboo structures:
Versatility: Rhino can be used to work on designs at a variety of different scales. Whether you're modeling intricate joinery or designing full-scale projects, Rhino let's you work precisely on different scales regardless of their geometries, within a single model.
Ease of Modeling Curves: Unlike other software, Rhino can easily model curved geometries, such as arches and bent bamboo poles. This makes it particularly useful for designing organic forms.
Ability to Integrate Plugins: Rhino can work with a variety of plugins which range from conducting structural analysis to parametric design. Our favorite parametric design plugin is called Grasshopper. By using it, we can quickly iterate ideas to explore multiple design variations by making small adjustments, which update and reflect in the entire model.
Visualization: Besides being able to visualize your design in 3-dimensions through a model, Rhino and other plugins within it, allow you to add textures and bring your designs to life
Flexible Output for Real Projects: Once you have your model, Rhino can be used to generate other technical outputs, including 2D drawings such as plans, sections, and elevations, as well as other digital files like fabrication templates, all of which can help streamline the construction phase.
