Spent the afternoon learning about Anchor Food Professionals and products I can bring back into the Short N Sweet Bacolod kitchen.

Still testing, still learning, still building — and I can’t wait to start baking.

Second rough puff paste trial in Bacolod… and this one failed.

I’m frustrated, but not defeated. The butter, flour, oven, and humidity are all teaching me what this pastry needs here.

There will be more trials until I get it right. Because when Short N Sweet Bacolod adds something to the menu, I want it to be worthy of your table — flaky, buttery, and truly earned. More notes, more testing soon.

My first cake in Bacolod… with only 6 hours’ notice. 🌺
This one was special.
A birthday cake had to happen quickly, but “last minute” still deserved to feel thoughtful, beautiful, and made with heart — especially for someone as special as the birthday celebrant.
So this became a chocolate birthday cake finished with smooth buttercream and handcrafted tropical sugar flowers — a little Hawaii, a little Bacolod, and a lot of love.
New kitchen. New tools. New rhythm.
Same heart behind every cake.

Our Dobosh Torte is made with delicate sponge cake, rich chocolate buttercream, and that old-world European bakery feel — elegant, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying. It's one of my all time FAVORITES!
