A First for DAR Negros Island Region

The PelikulAgraryo: Department of Agrarian Reform Central and Regional Film Festival 2026 is particularly significant for DAR Negros Island Region (NIR). While PelikulAgraryo is already on its second year, this is the first time that DAR NIR participates as an independent regional office. Prior to the establishment of the NIR regional structure, Negros Occidental was under Region VI – Western Visayas, while Negros Oriental and Siquijor were under Region VII – Central Visayas.

This year, the four DAR Provincial Offices of Negros Occidental I – North, Negros Occidental II – South, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor come together under one regional banner for PelikulAgraryo.

Four Provincial Offices. One region. One platform for agrarian stories.

Celebrating the Elements of Excellence!

The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region (DAR NIR) honored 96 personnel from its regional and provincial offices during the PRAISE Awards held September 22, 2026 at Roy’s Hotel and Convention Center.

With the theme, “The Elements of Excellence: United in Balance, Courage, and Service,” the celebration recognized personnel whose dedication, initiative, innovation, teamwork, and commitment to public service contribute to the delivery of quality agrarian reform services across the region.

Awards were conferred in various categories, including Innovative, On-the-Spot, Initiative, Early Bird, Model Employee, Team Player, Client Satisfaction, 5S, Best Performer, and outstanding employee awards across DAR NIR divisions and municipal offices.

The ceremony also highlighted the oath-taking of newly promoted personnel and appointees, administered by Regional Director Lucrecia S. Taberna.

“Today, we gather to celebrate the promotions and appointments, but more importantly, to recognize the people behind every milestone in the delivery of agrarian services.” RD Taberna said.

She reminded the DAR NIR workforce that the region’s continued progress rests on their shared commitment to service.

“The future of the DAR Negros Island Region is not the work of one person. It is a shared responsibility—built by all of us, working together with one purpose and one commitment to agrarian service. Panginbulahan sa tanan! ”
