One of the first products I ever baked as a kid in the kitchen was our Old-fashioned Lenguas de Gato and I'm very specific about how I like them. They need to be buttery, thin, golden brown, and crisp on the edges, pale and slightly thicker in the center, with a satisfying snap as I bite into them.
