UB Foods Company’s journey began in 2017, founded by Chef Mon Urbano, a computer engineer-turned-businessman who transitioned into the hospitality industry and established a hospitality consultancy, and Dennis Balagtas, a banker with 20 years of experience in trust business, bringing financial expertise and strategic leadership. In 2019, we expanded into institutional dining, successfully operating canteens as a concessionaire, a role we continue to serve today. Our culinary footprint grew further when we launched our first Brick Wood PH restaurant in Bacoor in December 2017, specializing in American-Mexican cuisine infused with Asian flavors. The venture was strengthened with the expertise of Janina Ruiz (Marketing and Sales Expert), Chef Josette Dela Cruz, and Lawrence Ruiz (Engineer), who helped drive the brand’s growth and innovation. Recognizing the need for efficient supply chain management, we established Saying Grace Foods Corporation in 2021, founded by the five of us. This corporation manages food commissary operations, distribution, and supplies for all our food businesses and canteens, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across all our brands, including Brick Wood PH.
