Lechem Sisig House carries its name from the Hebrew word ืึถืึถื โ lechem โ which holds a dual meaning: it speaks of bread and the act of eating, and it speaks of the fight, the struggle, the daily wrestling that sustains life. In one word, it captures everything our vision is: food as sustenance, and the labor behind it as something sacred. It is not coincidental that in Scripture, bread is never merely bread โ it is covenant, it is provision, it is the thing Abba Yahuah uses again and again to show His people that He sees them, that He feeds them, that He does not let them go hungry. Lechem Sisig House is named in that spirit.
The name is rooted in the belief that humble, homey Filipino food deserves to be seen as the beautiful thing it already is. It lives at the intersection of the everyday and the extraordinary โ where the sizzle of a cast iron plate becomes a cinematic moment, and the daily grind of a small kitchen carries the quiet dignity of something consecrated. Every story reveals what has always been there: the beauty of a cuisine that has fed generations, the warmth of a meal that costs little but means a lot more.
Each feature is framed through a question: what is Yahuah saying in this food story? In the steam rising from a sizzling plate, there is provision. In the hands that chop and season and serve, there is the dignity of labor that Scripture honors. In the act of gathering around a shared meal, there is the echo of every table in the Word โ from the wilderness manna to the breaking of bread in the upper room. It is our attempt to render food the way God blesses a new day: quietly full of meaning for those willing to look.
Every food post from Lechem Sisig House is therefore also an act of worship. Alongside each photograph โ each story of a dish, an ingredient, a cook, a table โ we will share a passage or verse from Scripture that speaks to what that story carries. The fire that rendered the fat and the hands that served the meal โ each step in the chain of provision is a part of something Yahuah created. We give thanks for it as testimony: that behind every good meal is a good God who carefully thought its existence, and that to eat well and to eat together is, in its own quiet way, to participate in His abundance.
The tagline โAt Home Ka sa Lasa, Magaan pa sa Bulsaโ is not just a promise of affordability. It is a declaration of belonging โ that this table is for everyone, that no one is priced out of something good, that the Filipino tradition of feeding people generously is itself a reflection of how Yahuah feeds His own. It is a table set in His name, open to all, and grateful for every ingredient that found its way to it.
