Ngayong araw, ating ginugunita ang ika-82 anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kagitingan — isang pagpupugay sa mga bayaning nag-alay ng buhay para sa ating kalayaan.

Ang Araw ng Kagitingan ay ginugunita tuwing Abril 9 bilang pag-alala sa pagbagsak ng Bataan noong 1942, sa panahon ng Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig. Libo-libong sundalong Pilipino at Amerikano ang sapilitang pinamartsa ng mga Hapones mula Bataan patungong Capas, Tarlac sa tinatawag na “Death March.” Sa kabila ng matinding hirap at panganib, ipinamalas nila ang tapang, pagtitiis, at pagmamahal sa bayan. Ang araw na ito ay simbolo ng kabayanihan at sakripisyo para sa ating kalayaan
