No matter what age, I’ll always need my mom.
There will always be moments when life becomes too overwhelming, and all I’ll want is to hear her voice, sit beside her, or feel the comfort of knowing she’s there. Because even when we grow older, a part of us will always remain the child who finds peace in their mother’s love. The child who still wants to be asked if they’ve eaten, reminded to take care of themselves, or hugged after a long and exhausting day.
As we get older, we slowly realize that our mothers were loving us in ways we did not fully understand before. Through the sleepless nights, silent sacrifices, constant worrying, and the kind of care that asked for nothing in return. And maybe that’s why no matter how independent we become, there will always be days when we still need our mom, because her love has always been the safest place we’ve ever known.
Some people outgrow places, phases, and even people. But I don’t think we ever outgrow needing our mother. She was our first home, our first comfort, and the first person who loved us before we even knew how to love ourselves. And no matter how old I become, there will always be a part of me that quietly whispers, “I still need my mom.”
Happy Mother’s day to all mom’s out there 🌸
