Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Organic Farm Technician responsible for daily operations, production, and supervising a small team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organic crop production, soil management, sustainable farming practices, and the ability to plan, solve problems, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and carry out all activities of organic crop production, including seedlings, transplanting, irrigation, w**d, pest, and disease management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling of crops.
• Develop and implement yearly crop plans, rotation schedules, and fertility programs that meet organic certification standards (NOAB).
• Manage and maintain farm infrastructure, such as greenhouses, irrigation systems, tools, and equipment.
• Oversee, train, and organize farm crew members and farm visitors.
• Keep detailed production records required by organic certification bodies, including crop varieties, yields, inputs, expenses, and sales.
• Support marketing and distribution via CSA programs, farmers’ markets, and restaurant accounts.
• Ensure adherence to all food safety (GAPs) and organic certification standards.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in organic vegetable and fruit production.
• Proven track record of effectively managing farm crews and workflows.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform repetitive manual tasks like
• Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. (Optional)

Preferred:

• Degree or certification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience in drip irrigation, tractor operation, and small-scale farm equipment repair.
• Basic knowledge of drip irrigation or regenerative agriculture practices.
• Previous involvement in CSA or sales from direct-market farms.
