To provide clarification regarding the selection of the five (5) beneficiaries under the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program” Educational Assistance Program, the following is a chronological account of the meetings and events:
June 22, 2026
All incoming 4th-year students for School Year 2026–2027 were invited to attend a meeting regarding the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program” Educational Assistance Program. A total of 19 students, together with their parents, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the scholarship program, its guidelines, and the selection of beneficiaries were discussed. Based on the discussion and the qualifications presented at that time, five (5) students were identified as beneficiaries.
July 3, 2026
A second meeting was conducted including students who were unable to attend the first meeting.
During this meeting, the list of potential beneficiaries was reviewed and adjusted based on the program guidelines. It was clarified that students who were already receiving another scholarship and those studying at a university with free tuition were not eligible for the educational assistance.
The SK Chairperson was not physically present during the meeting because she was in Manila for a school-related trip. However, she was contacted through a phone call during the meeting.
During the conversation, the SK Chairperson expressed that she did not want to be included among the five (5) beneficiaries and asked whether there was another student who could still qualify for the educational assistance.
After verification of the qualifications of the other students, Cap. Joey contacted the SK Chairperson again and informed her that there were no other students who qualified based on the program requirements and the available number of slots.
Following this, the SK Chairperson stated that, should she be included among the five (5) beneficiaries, she would voluntarily share ₱20,000 from her scholarship assistance with the remaining students who were not qualified for the program.
This clarification is being provided to present the chronological sequence of events, the circumstances surrounding the selection process, and the actions taken during the meetings regarding the five (5) scholarship beneficiaries.
The purpose of this statement is to provide transparency and clarification regarding the circumstances surrounding the selection and to address any misunderstanding concerning the inclusion of the SK Chairperson among the identified beneficiaries.
For the residents of Barangay Agbanawan, should there be any questions, concerns, or requests for further clarification regarding this matter, you are respectfully encouraged to proceed to the Barangay Hall so that your concerns may be properly addressed and any questions that cannot be adequately answered through social media may be discussed and clarified directly.
