Last year, Christiamir Malanog, who directed Norma at Rico, won Best Director in the Super Short category at the Winter Program of the Alternative Film Festival in Ontario, Canada. Out of 58 entries and 3 nominees in the Best Director category—including Joseph De Leo from Canada and Gora Sporcic from Croatia—Christiamir Malanog took home the award.
