🌱 Institutional Assessment for COC – Produce Organic Fertilizer Successfully Conducted! 🌱

The trainees of the Organic Agriculture Production NC II (OAP NC II) under the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program (CFSP) successfully underwent their Institutional Assessment for Produce Organic Fertilizer.

During the assessment, the trainees demonstrated their competency in preparing vermicomposting bins using makeshift containers made from recycled and reusable materials. This practical approach not only showcased their competency in organic fertilizer production but also promoted environmentally friendly practices by giving new purpose to materials that might otherwise become waste.

As part of the activity, the trainees also successfully deployed African Night Crawlers (ANC) into their prepared vermicomposting bins - made during their training, now matured and become ready for use. This marked an important step in the vermicomposting process, where organic materials are converted into nutrient-rich vermicast that can be used as a natural and effective organic fertilizer.

Through this hands-on assessment, the trainees showcased their knowledge and skills in organic fertilizer production, resource conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Institutional Assessment for COC 2 – Produce Organic Vegetables Successfully Conducted! 🌱

The trainees of the Organic Agriculture Production NC II (OAP NC II) under the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program (CFSP) successfully underwent their Institutional Assessment for Produce Organic Vegetables.

During the assessment, the trainees demonstrated their knowledge, skills, and competency in various organic vegetable production activities, including:
✅ Nursery Operations – Preparation of Potting Mix and Seed Sowing
✅ Transplanting , and Land Preparation
✅ Plant Care and Maintenance
✅ Harvesting Operations

The assessment provided an opportunity for the trainees to showcase the practical skills they have acquired throughout the training, reflecting their readiness to apply organic farming practices in their farms and communities.

Institutional Assessment in progress - COC 4! 🌱

OAP Trainees are demonstrating their skills and knowledge in Producing Organic Concoctions and Extracts, one of the core competencies of the Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II qualification. This assessment serves as a vital step in validating their competency in preparing organic inputs that support sustainable and environmentally responsible farming practices.

Organic Agriculture Production NC II Training Officially Begins!

The Organic Agriculture Production NC II Training under the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program has officially commenced at DMDC Farm in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Philippine Coconut Authority.

A total of 21 trainees have officially enrolled in the program and attended the Training Induction Program (TIP) conducted by Mam Ella Layag on May 13, 2026. The induction program provided an orientation on the training objectives, policies, expectations, and opportunities available to the scholars throughout the duration of the program.

The scholarship covers 32 training days focused on Organic Agriculture Production NC II and Entrepreneurship Training, aiming to develop the trainees’ technical skills in sustainable farming while also enhancing their knowledge in basic entrepreneurship and livelihood development.

This initiative aims to empower coconut farmers and their beneficiaries through skills development, entrepreneurship, and livelihood opportunities toward a more sustainable, resilient, and productive agricultural sector.
