Japan is facing a double disaster right now 😔

260,000 residents in Kagoshima & Okinawa have been ordered to evacuate.
500+ flights have been cancelled as of today, Aug 7, 2026.

This Category 1 typhoon is bringing 144 kph winds and heavy rains
to southwestern Japan. There is a high risk of flooding and damage
to structures.

To make matters worse, Kumamoto is still recovering from last
week’s 7.1 magnitude earthquake. 6,700 people remain in
evacuation centers.

To everyone in Japan: Please stay safe, stay indoors,
and follow evacuation orders.

Arson Suspect Arrested:
37-year-old Aaron Farinacci charged with
1st-degree arson for Old Trails Fire.

Current Status:
Damage: 3,621 acres burned
Containment: 13%
Evacuated: 67,000 residents

Two other fires still under investigation.
Officials warn weather conditions may worsen.

The Spokane Complex wildfires are still spreading.

WHAT'S HAPPENING:
- 3 fires burning: Old Trails, Autumn Lane, Fairview Fire
- 10,280+ acres burned and 0% contained
- 65,000 people evacuated from their homes
- 700+ homes and buildings destroyed
- 10,000 more homes are still at risk

CAUSE: Extreme heat, drought, and winds up to 45 mph.

Officials have declared a state of emergency.
Firefighters and National Guard are on the ground.

Behind the numbers are families who lost their homes.

What’s the reason why they’re doing this?

Short answer bro: They’re dreaming of a better life. 🙏

4 MAIN REASONS:

1. Poverty and No Jobs
In many parts of Africa, life is really hard.
No stable jobs, low wages. In Europe, there’s a better chance to earn.

2. Ceuta = The Closest "Gateway" to Europe
Ceuta is part of Spain... but it’s located in Africa.
That means, if you cross there, you’re already in the European Union.
No visa, no airport. Just the sea in between.

3. War, Persecution, Climate
Some are escaping conflict, violence, or because their homes were flooded/destroyed due to climate.
They’re looking for safety.

4. For Their Family
Many of them send money back home to their families.
So their siblings can go to school, so there’s food on the table.

WHY SWIM ACROSS THE DANGEROUS SEA?
Because the legal routes are closed. The borders are strict.
So they take the risk. They know it’s dangerous, but staying in their situation feels even more dangerous.

Real talk: They don’t “just want to cause trouble.”
They’re people too who want jobs, a home, and a future for their families.
It’s like our OFWs, just a different route.

That’s why whenever there’s news like this, it’s important that we still have compassion.

WEATHER UPDATE: Xi'an, China 🇨🇳

July 30, 2026 - Xi'an upgraded its rainstorm warning to RED LEVEL
after heavy downpours caused flooding in urban areas.

Authorities closed valleys and forest parks in the Qin Mountains
due to the risk of landslides and flash floods. Several tourist spots were also shut down.

It's really concerning to see what's happening.
