π Mark your calendars! Tomorrow, the moon will turn red during a total lunar eclipse lasting 58 minutes! In the Americas, it will peak in the early morning before sunrise, while in Asia and Australia, the moon rises already partially eclipsed and reaches its peak in the evening. For Europe and Africa, the moon will be below the horizon this time.
No special equipment is neededβjust find a clear spot away from city lights, dress warmly if itβs chilly, and enjoy the sky with someone you love to share it with. The red color happens because sunlight passes through Earthβs atmosphere, scattering blue light and letting red light reach the moon, like seeing every sunset on Earth projected at once.
The next total lunar eclipse visible for most of the world wonβt happen until 2028β2029, so donβt miss this spectacular show!
