These products are the result of the hard work, dedication, and unity of our participative fisherfolk, together with the unwavering guidance and support of our Area Coordinator mam Herminia Belingon. Through teamwork and commitment, we have transformed our locally produced tilapia into high-quality, delicious, and market-ready products.

This milestone marks another step toward empowering our fisherfolk, adding value to our harvest, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for our community.

Today's Activity | BFAR-SAAD Project

Today, the Cawayan Farmers Association successfully received the delivery of aquaculture feeds through the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU). The delivery was facilitated using the LGU truck and was accompanied by LGU staff to ensure the safe and timely transport of the supplies.

The delivered feeds consisted of 276 bags of tilapia feeds for distribution to BFAR-SAAD beneficiaries, 60 bags of broodstock feeds, and 20 bags of fry mash intended for the association's hatchery.

Following the delivery, the distribution of the 276 bags of tilapia feeds to fisherfolk and BFAR-SAAD beneficiaries commenced today. The distribution will continue tomorrow to ensure that all qualified beneficiaries receive their allocated feeds.

This activity is part of the BFAR-SAAD Project, which continues to strengthen aquaculture production, improve food security, and enhance the livelihoods of fisherfolk in the community.

The Cawayan Farmers Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Local Government Unit (LGU), the dedicated LGU staff, and all partners who made this activity possible. Through our continued collaboration, we remain committed to empowering our fisherfolk and promoting sustainable aquaculture development.

Under the BFAR-SAAD program, a Post Harvest Training cm Hatchery Management was conducted at the CFA office on June 3-4, 2026. The Post Harvest Training included processing of Marinated Tilapia, Tilapia Okoy, and Tilapia Shanghai, which the participants enjoyed. On the other hand, a hands-on training on how to properly classify and pack fingerlings at the Hatchery was provided. The said training was very well appreciated by the fisherfolks of the Association, as it opened up business ideas and can provided nutritious food for children.

Look, on the 1st day of June, 2026, members of the Cawayan Farmers Association received 107 sacks of rice seeds, 37 sacks of urea, and 37 sacks of complete fertilizer. A total of 72 rice farmers benefited from the RFFA program of the Department of Agriculture. The distribution was conducted by regional personnel, together with the Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Ms. Melinda Galiom, RFFA coordinator, and assisted by Barangay Kagawad Committee on Agriculture Hon. Brian Nantan.
On behalf of the recipients, we would like to extend our gratitude to the Department of Agriculture for its continuous support to farmers in Barangay Cawayan, Asipulo, Ifugao. We also thank Barangay Kagawad Junmark Baglao for the hauling of rice seeds and fertilizers, which has lessened the transportation expenses of the recipients.

5|25|2026 The Cawayan Farmers Association received the inaugural delivery of Tilapia feeds for the 4th cropping of BFAR-SAAD. The CFA SAAD Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for another year of livelihood provision for fisherfolks in the barangay. A total of 92 bags of frymash, 46 bags of Pre-starter, and 92 bags of starter feeds were delivered by the ever-supportive LGU Asipulo and Sir Mico Codiaman, together with Sir Aries. Thank you, LGU Asipulo, for the truck used and to BFAR for the feeds.
