Manunggal on one side and the beaches of Mactan Island on the other. The facility offers a wide array of adventure activities from easy to challenging trekking, river swimming, picnics, farm to table dining, camping and glamping, horseback riding, hanging out with farm animals, and many others. It is also a suitable location for just ‘chilling’…enjoying the fresh mountain air and the breathtaking
view, over a sumptuous cup of coffee or a glass of wine, whichever is to one’s liking! The term “Chesanyama” is derived from the Zulu slang Shisa nyama, literally meaning ‘burnt meat’ or braai, the South African term for barbecue. This expression is used to describe a popular 'buy-and-braai' style of venue found across South Africa, where people choose and buy their meat and have it grilled to their preference. In Japanese, Shisan means ‘local production’ while Yama means ‘mountain’. Both South African and Japanese contexts are appropriate for Chesanyama Café’s concept of farm-to-table dining, and also its goal of offering to the general public the enjoyment of a mountain-farm life experience.
