Why Large White × Duroc?

Two breeds commonly used in pig farming because of their strong qualities:

Large White — good mothers, good litter size, and good growth.
Duroc — fast-growing, hardy, and known for good meat quality.

Together, they can produce healthy, fast-growing pigs with good meat quality.

Good genetics + proper care + quality feeds = better growth

🎉 A Blessed Start to August! 🐷🤍

We’re very grateful to start the month:

August 1 – 4 pigs sold
August 2 – 2 pigs sold

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust and support OINK Piggery Farm.

Above all, thank You, Lord, for every blessing and every customer You send our way.

Our prayer this month is for a healthy farm, healthy pigs, and that the live weight price becomes fair for all hog raisers. May every farmer earn enough to continue raising quality livestock and keep local farming alive.

Here’s to a blessed and fruitful August for all farmers. ❤️

An Open Letter from a Hog Raiser

To everyone who buys, sells, and negotiates pigs, we hope you’ll take a moment to understand our side.

Every pig we sell represents months of hard work.

It’s waking up early every day.
It’s buying feeds, medicines, vitamins, and maintaining the farm.
It’s worrying when pigs get sick.
It’s taking risks every single day.

Yet when it’s time to sell, many buyers still ask us to lower our prices.

What many don’t realize is that feed prices keep increasing, while the cost of raising pigs continues to rise. At the same time, imported pork affects the market, making it even harder for local hog raisers to earn a fair return.

Here in Cebu, live weight prices are around ₱190–₱200 per kilo, but that doesn’t automatically mean hog raisers are making big profits. After months of expenses, many farms are only earning enough to keep going.

What hurts the most is seeing some agents negotiate our price down to the last peso, saying our pigs are too expensive. Then, without spending months feeding, cleaning, treating, and caring for those pigs, they sell them to consumers at a much higher price.

We respect honest agents who help connect farmers and buyers. But we hope there is also respect for the people who did all the hard work before that pig ever reached the market.

Some farmers have already started selling all their pigs because they can no longer afford to buy feeds. Others have stopped raising pigs completely.

We understand everyone wants the best price. That’s normal.

But every peso negotiated is a peso taken from months of work, sleepless nights, and the risks that only a hog raiser carries.

We aren’t asking for sympathy. We’re simply asking for fairness.

Support local hog raisers whenever you can.

To everyone who continues to support local farms, thank you. ❤️
